★( KARAOKE NIGHT ) ★

Helena and Greg quickly enters the bathroom on hearing her scream.

“What’s wrong? Why’re you screaming?” Helena asked.

And Paige staggeringly snuggle to them.

“Mom, I think I’ve been bitten” She said whimpering.

“Bitten? By what?” Greg asked.

Paige sniffs.

“Even if I tell you, You both won’t understand, but I’ve seriously been bitten” Paige said.

She leaves the bathroom, climbs her bed, covering herself with the duvet.

“Paige are you all right?” Helena asked.

“Yes I’m fine, Don’t worry about me” Paige said scrunching the duvet.

Both Helena and Greg looks at each other.

THE MCDONALD’S MANSION***

Nadia keeps laughing as she chatter with someone on the phone, her mom opened the door, and she quickly ended the call, spranging up from the bed.

“Mom” She said gulping down hard.

Mrs McDonald scans the entire room with her eyes.

“What’re you doing?”

“Not… Nothing Mom” She stuttered.

“Really? I could hear you from downstairs laughing, Who were you talking to on the phone?” Mrs McDonald asked.

“No one mom, just a friend from school” Nadia said, hiding her phone behind her back.

“What happened in school today?”

“Huh?”

“Nadine is very indignant, but she’s refusing to say a word, So I’m sure you must have an idea about what happened earlier at school, right?”

“I don’t Mom” Nadine answers and Mrs McDonald hisses.

“What’s the point of asking you, when you aren’t going to give me an answer”

“I’m sorry Mom”

“Sorry for yourself, I’ve gotten use to your unprompt behavior, You have nothing to show fort anyways”

Nadia looks at her, but quickly buried her head to the tiled floor.

“The next runner up is coming soon, make sure your able to win a crown, understood?”

“I do mom, I’ll do my best this time around” Nadine said.

Mrs McDonald looks at her and snickers.

“Let’s hope so cuz I know your going to fail, that’s your second name after all” Mrs McDonald said and leaves Nadia’s room.

Nadia sits on the bed, folding her legs together, and her pigtail hair dangles as she heaved a sigh.

“How can I do well, when you forcing me to be like Nadine” She said and sighs again.

“But what really happened in school today? Did something happen when I sneaked out of school today?” Nadia asked no one.

She falls to the bed.

“Whoever made Nadine so angry, I’m thankful to him or her, she has been on my throat for long, and I can’t seem to get her off my throat” Nadia muffled and sighs again.

THE NEXT DAY=EMPIRE HIGH***

“Are you all right Paige? Your eyes looked so dull” Desiree said as they made their way towards the class.

Paige pouted.

“That’s because I couldn’t even get the slightest bit of sleep last night” Paige answers.

“Huh? Why?”

Paige sighs squealing, making Desiree wonder why.

“What’s wrong Paige? What with the squealing?”

“I think I brought this upon myself, Is all my fault” Paige said and squeals again.

“Can you at least tell me what’s going on with you?” Desiree asked.

Paige pouted and her eyes sees Carding about to enter the class, and she quickly rushed to him.

Carding smiles on seeing her.

“Oh, Paige” He said waving at her smiling.

“Are you a wizard?” Paige asked, and Carding became confused.

“What’s with the question Paige? Why will you ask me if am a wizard?” Carding asked.

Paige looks at him, and she could feel the beating of her heart pouncing rapidly and she couldn’t denied that she was seeing him so differently now.

“Forget it, I’ve indeed been bitten” Paige muffled and staggeringly went Inside the class.

“Hi Carding” Desiree said waving at him.

“What’s wrong with Paige?” Carding asked.

“I don’t know either, she has been rattling something I couldn’t understand” Desiree answers and enters the glass.

Carding sighs before entering the class, he looks at Paige, Paige looked at him but quickly looked away coughing like she had an indigestion.

“You all alright?” Desiree asked, and Paige sharply nods.

“So what happened last night? I was surprised when I saw you in school today” Stacey said.

“I won’t have come to school, if he didn’t help out”

“He? … The anonymous Guy?” Stacey asked.

“Yes” Sabrina replies.

“What did he do this time?”

“He helped paid my rent when the landlady almost kicked us out, he even helped us redecorate our house” Sabrina said.

“Wow. He must really love you Sabrina” Stacey said smiling.

“Then why is he keeping his identity a secret, he should at least show his face to me, I don’t want to get my hopes up”

“May be he just felt like is not necessarily”

“Really?”

“That’s the only thing I have in mind” Stacey said.

Sabrina grunts and packed her hair in a messy bun.

“You aren’t at home Sabrina, You should look beautiful, so the handsome guys in our class will notice you”

“I’m not interested in guys Stacey, so there’s no use dressing up… What’s wrong with Paige, she doesn’t look herself?”

Stacey looks at Paige who had her buried on the desk, while Desiree was just caressing Paige’s hair, and Stacey used eye signals to ask Desiree what was wrong with Paige.

Desiree got the message and shakes her head, meaning she has no idea.

“I think she’s a little bit out of the world, but I know Paige to be a lively person, she’s going to come back to herself in no time.

“I hope so” Sabrina muffled looking at Paige.

Although she had just met Paige, but she already liked her a lot.

Angelo enters the class with Dylan, and Stacey’s heart whipped on seeing him.

Dylan smiles when he didn’t see Barney in her seat, which means no one will pester him today.

He really got it hot from his parents because Barney reported to them, about Dylan not accepting her gift and he was forced to accept the gift and kiss her right in their presence.

And anytime he thinks about the kiss, he always wipe his lips with the back of his hand, he just hates everything about her.

Stacey keeps looking at Angelo smiling, not taking her eyes off him.

“Do you love him that much?” Sabrina asked.

“Of course I do, I love him so much Sabrina, I might kill anyone who tries to take him from me”

“Don’t tell me your ready to become a villian, just so you can have him?” Sabrina asked.

“Am willing to do anything, his baby face is so enchanting” Sabrina said squealing silently.

Sabrina chuckles.

A teacher enters the classroom, and the murmurings and chitchat stopped immediately.

“Since is your final year in Empire High, the school has finally decided to hold a competition” The teacher announced.

“Competition?” The students asked, and Paige raised her head, she looks at Carding and his eyes were on her.

“Are you all right?” Paige reads his lips, and she nods smiling.

*I’ve to accept the fact that I’ve been whipped by that Demigod* Paige said inwardly, smiling at Carding, who euphorically retuned it.

“Yes a competition” The teacher said and both Carding and Paige turn their gaze to the teacher.

“You’ll be grouped into two, and you and your partner will work on artworks like photographing, sculptures, music, painting and so many more that has to do with you being an art students… The winners will have the opportunity of getting an A in their grades and also get a chance to study in the Seoul National University, without working or reading so hard to enter the college” The teacher said.

“Wow. When is the competition?” A female student asked.

“Next week, So you all should get ready, schooling in Seoul National University without stress is a big time opportunity” The teacher said and face the board, writing the day’s subject on it.

“I hope I and Angelo becomes partners in the competition, cuz if we win, we’re going to get a chance to school together” Stacey said excitedly.

“Your so silly Stacey” Sabrina said looking at the teacher, who was already lecturing them.

Stacey looks at Angelo smiling, but her smile faded into a sad face, when Angelo was looking at someone smiling.

“Are you okay now?” Desiree asked, and Paige nods smiling.

“Why were you down ealier?” She asked again.

“I was just organizing my thoughts, but now I’m ok” Paige said and looks at Carding. He was busy jotting down what the teacher was saying.

*Is not bad falling for him, is this how exciting it is falling in love with someone?* She said inwardly, as her face was glued on Carding, smiling.

“Are you going to keep on looking at Carding’s face or listen to me Paige” The teacher said and everyone turns to look at her.

Paige bits her lips.

“Sorry” She muffled, hiding her face.

Carding looks at her and chuckles smiling.

Nadine glared at Paige with so much hate.

DELOITTE CONGLOMERATE***

“Were you in charge in cleaning my office today?” Velvet asked Greg.

“Yes ma’am” Greg answers.

And Velvet spilled the coffee she was holding on Greg.

“Ma’am!”

“Maybe that’s going to wake you up from your clumsiness, Your been pay and yet you can’t even do the tiniest task given to you!!” Velvet yells at him.

“What wrong did I do ma’am, Your office is clean and well tidy” Greg said.

“Yes, but you made the mistake of moving my pen from where it was to another direction” Velvet said.

“Is that why you spilled coffee on me simply because I moved your pen from it’s position?” Greg asked with unbelievable eyes.

“Yes, you ain’t allowed to touch my things, just do your Job quietly and leave without touching any of my stuffs, if this repeats itself again, am going to file a complain on you, Understood?”

Greg sighs.

“Fine I won’t”

“The door is already opened, so get your useless self out from my office” Velvet said.

Greg crimps his fingers before leaving the office.

“What happened to you Greg?” His friend Jace asked.

“Whose that little witch in there?” Greg asked pointing at velvet’s office.

“That’s Ma Velvet, She was newly appointed as the directing manager of this company… I heard she’s from China, and she hates it when people touch her stuffs” Jace said.

“That’s so lame, how can she pour coffee on me simply because I move her pen to another direction” Greg said.

“Your lucky she poured coffee on you, rumors had it that she once send someone to the hospital simple because he helped her pick up her bag that landed on the floor”

“Then I think she’s a psychopath, she really needs to be admitted in a psychiatric hospital… She’s lucky she has a high position here, else I’ll have shown her that craziness runs in my family” Greg said, and Jace laughs.

“When is your girlfriend coming back from Texas? isn’t she spending too much time there?” Jace asked.

Greg looks at Nina’s picture in his phone and smiles.

“She has so much work to do there, but she’ll be back soon” Greg said caressing Nina’s picture.

Odessa smiles as she walks around the collections of brands of hangbags like Dior, Channels, Gucci, Celine, Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Rolex and so many more.

“I wonder which of these I should get for her” Odessa said looking at the different kinds of expensive bags.

The last time Paige visited their house, she wasn’t satisfied with the handbag was having.

She has tons of it in her wardrobe, some of which she hasn’t touched, but because she happens to be the girl her son likes, she decided to get a new one for her.

“My son is slow witted to be able to do this, So am going to do it for him, that’s how much I love him” Odessa said smiling.

“Have any of the bags caught your taste?” One of the attendance asked.

Odessa looks at her and smiles.

“I’m getting a bag for my daughter in-law, but it’s seems I like everything… You know what, just give me one of each of the brands of these handbags” Odessa said smiling.

“You mean you want a handbag from each of the brands?… But we have a lot of brands of bags” The attendance said.

“I know, I want a bag from each of the brands…. My daughter in-law deserves the best” Odessa said smiling.

******

BACK IN SCHOOL***

“Do you have any plans after school?” Desiree asked.

“I have nothing to do at home” Paige said.

“I’m Free, no part time jobs today” Stacey said smiling.

“What about you Sabrina?”. Desiree asked.

“I have to pick up my brother from school, and I’m planning on looking for an extra Job” Sabrina said.

“Aren’t you over working yourself?” Paige asked.

“I have to provide for my brother Paige… My dad… I won’t be available” Sabrina said.

“Too bad, I wanted us to go to the karaoke to have fun” Desiree said.

“She’s going to go with us” Stacey said.

“Stacey I…”

“Don’t worry about your brother, I’ll beg my mom to pick him up, and looking for a job… Let’s leave it for another day” Stacey said.

“But….”

“There’s no but in this Sab, No matter what you do, the problem of this world won’t end, so for once in your life Sab, try to have fun” Stacey said, and Sabrina sighs.

“So are you in?” Paige asked.

And Sabrina nods, the girls squealed excitedly.

Stacey looks at Angelo, who was sitting with Carding and Dylan and face Paige.

“Paige you should invite the CAD” She said smiling.

“Why are you asking me to do that?” Paige asked.

“Your the only among us whose close to the CAD, I’m they won’t decline if you ask them to join us” Stacey said.

“And why do you want them to join us, it’ll have been fun if it was all girls” Desiree said.

“She has a huge crush on Angelo, or should I say, she’s in love with him” Sabrina said.

“Aah, so you have been bitten by the so-called love bug… Congratulations on those falling in love, I’m not one of them” Desiree said shoving a portion of pizza inside her mouth.

Paige looks at Carding and smiles.

“Can you tell them to join us?” Stacey asked blinking.

“Alright I’ll” Paige said and went over to the CAD’S table.

“Hi Guys” she said smiling.

“Paige” Angelo and Dylan called her, while Carding looks at her.

“We’re going to the karaoke after school, mind to join”.

“Sure I’m in” Angelo said.

“Same here” Carding said, and his sweet voice sent butterflies to Paige’s stomach.

“What about you Dylan?” Paige asked using one eye to look at Carding.

“Sorry Paige, but I have night classes to attend” Dylan said.

“Night classes?”

“Yeah, I’m taking medicine and surgery as a major after High School, so I’m taking night classes to be able to fit in for the course….. My parent’s wishes though”

“Sorry about that Dylan”.

“Is fine Paige, you Guys can have fun without me” Dylan said.

Paige sighs.

8PM=KARAOKE

Their screams could loudly be heard as they sing alongside with the song being shown on the screen.

They were wearing funny hairbands like cat, rabbit, monkey and Dog hairbands.

“I scored 100!!!” Paige screams jumping, Carding looks at her and smile.

“Let’s go one more round, we should play blackpink song” Stacey said.

“What’s blackpink?” Paige asked.

“Is a Korea girl group, let’s go for PINK VENOM, is a one of their comeback song” Desiree said.

“I scored 100” Desiree, Sabrina and Stacey screams excitedly.

Paige threw her microphone away.

“This is cheating, how can you put a song that I don’t know what their saying, I scored Zero” Paige said pouting and the girls laughed at her.

“Let’s all sing what Paige likes” Carding said and winks at her, Paige smiles widely.

“Yes we should do what I like” Paige said feeling so happy, Carding smiles.

After singing to their heart content, they came out to find out it has been raining outside.

“Wow, can’t believe summer breaks are over” Angelo said and the rest nods.

Stacey stylishly snuggle closer to him.

“I’m so cold” Stacey said shivering.

Angelo looks at her, but didn’t say a word to her.

Sabrina sneeze all of a sudden, and Angelo quickly rush to her taking off the jacket he was wearing, and wrapped it around her.

“Are you all right?” He asked with so much worry.

“Yes I’m” Sabrina said looking at him with so much surprised.

Stacey crimps her fingers seeing how Angelo’s hands were on Sabrina’s shoulders, and his eyes filled with worry for Sabrina.
