EPISODE 4

✧ GIRLFRIEND ✧

By the time Peninah ran outside, Jason was already driving off. She ran after the car shouting his name but instead of stopping, he drove off speedily.

Peninah dropped to a squat as she watch the car disappeared into thin air.

“Young man…” She mutters slowly.

AT A BAR.

The sound of heels clicking could be heard as a lady entered the club. She was dressed gorgeously. A black mesh crop top, short black leather skirk…black heels with a big black hat and sunglasses which is also black to go with it her lipstick wasn't left out…her lips was also painted deep black. She was all in all black that one could mistake her to be going to a funeral.

But the truth even with her weird dressing, she looks stunningly beautiful and hot.

“Hey babe” She took a seat in front of Jason who was sipping his red wine slowly.

He tilted up his head.

“You're here” he said dryly and she smiles ordering for a drink as well.

“Why do you wanna meet here? You should be careful…people might take pictures. I'm sure you don't want that” Jason said flatly drinking his wine.

“Are you angry?” She asked.

“You must be awesomely busy these days…you're scarce to see. Why do you wanna meet today?”

“You must be angry”

“I mean…I'm surprised a busy goddess like you wanna meet up with a jobless guy like me…it must be really important”

“I'm right…you're indeed angry…terrible angry at me Jay” She pouted. He kept quiet and she sighs holding his hand.

“Jay…I'm sorry. I've been out of the country for the contract. I couldn't call or text because I was told not to be distracted”

“So…I'm a distraction to you. I see…” He sighs removing his hand from hers.

“Didn't you know? Whenever I think of you or see you I can't think of anything else. Nothing else matters…you're just all I see” She smiles sweetly melting his heart.

Jason sighs.

“I mean…I feel like I'm in this relationship alone…I feel like I'm dating myself…you're always busy and never have time for me. It feels awful. You clearly love your career more than you do to me”

“Jayson…don't say that…you know it too…how much I cherish you. But…this is my dream…I can't just give it up”

“Then what about me? You can give me up? You can give up your feelings for me?”

“I can't do that either…Jayson… I've been in this relationship even before I started my career. You found it for me also and supported me all the way…I wouldn't be here or be who I am right now if not for you”

“Then why are you doing this to me? Mag it's been over a month since I've seen you . Is this really the kind of relationship you want? I…don't like it” He shakes his head.

“Can you just give me sometime? I just got a new project…I'm planning to make a music video soon…after that…I'm gonna take a break…then…you can have me all for yourself…I promise” She said calming him down.

“How…long will it take?”

“It won't be long”

“You…can't change your mind later”

“You seems you don't know but I missed you much more than you do”

“Who knows? I don't feel like that” He said looking away. Margaret smiles then stood giving him a short kiss on the lips. His face turned red immediately making Margaret chuckles.

“Guess I still possess that effect on you…the effect to make you flustered”

“What are you saying…?” He clears his throat while Margaret giggles silently.

“You should be careful…you don't want your pictures taken”

“How long has it been…you're still as handsome as always” She compliment while Jason smiles.

“How cute…” She mutters.

Jason got home looking all happy. He has been dating Margaret for over four years now. They started as friends and they grew up together. He had always liked her but being the shy type he couldn't confesses until Margaret did herself. He loves her and she does also. He had imagined several scenarios having a family with her however Margaret has always been busy ever since she started modelling since their last year in college. Things got worse when she made her first debut as a singer. She became super busy and has no time for him. They even had to keep their dating a secret so as not to taint her reputation. If not that their love was strong they should have broken up a long time ago. But Jason is always waiting for her. Even though he gets really angry sometimes she always find a way to calm him down. He loves her way too much and that's why he had never looked at another lady twice.

Jason slumped on the couch on getting home. Smiles all plastered on his face. He had forgotten about all the anger he felt because of her…he just couldn't wait for her to finish her so called project so they can finally…be together…again.

HOURS LATER.

Jason stretches and yawns as he got up from the couch. He had actually slept off on thinking about Margaret and their future together.

“Is it raining?” He mutters to himself on hearing the platter of rains. He peeked outside the window to see it's actually raining.

“Ow…I'm hungry” He yawns again and walks to the fridge opening it.

“But why is it so quiet? I feel like I'm forgetting something also” He thought for a while.

“Agh! Whatever…” He took an apple to take a bite but immediately it got to his mouth he had to dropped it unconsciously when something suddenly popped to his mind.

“Weirdo” He mutters.

“Right…I forgot about her. Eish!” He took his phone to call her but then remember she doesn't have a phone.

“Fool…” He hit himself mentally before taking his car key and jacket rushing out immediately.

SOMEWHERE CLOSE TO THE BAR.

Peninah hugged her knees to herself more trying not to let the rain touch her. It'd be big trouble if it did. It's already dark and not much people is in sight. Due to the rain everyone seems to have disappeared. She had no where else to go so she had no choice but to wait there hoping Jason would come back to her.

“Young man is not coming back…it's already been so long…he must have forgotten about me” She pouted sadly burying her head in her knees.

A tear slipped down her face and it turns into Pearl instantly.

Jason got to the bar looking for her but couldn't find her anywhere. He asked some people about her but no one seems to have noticed her. They all claimed they haven't seen her. He ruffles his hair in frustration before calling his friends. He got no positive answers from them either.

“Where on earth could she be…? Agh! This is driving me crazy!” He went back outside.

“Has she gone back? But she's sick…what if something happens to her….she can't go around asking some random guy to kiss her right? Agh seriously…why do I have to be bothered by such a nut case like her? So frustrating! Peninah!!! Pen!! Peninah!!” He yelled looking for her with umbrella over his head.

“AHHGH!!!” He heard a tiny voice screams and immediately ran over to where it's coming from.

“Please…please…” Peninah mutters cleaning her tail. A droplet of rain had actually fell on her which made her legs turns instantly to a beautiful shiny blue tail.

“PENINAH!!” She gasped on hearing Jason's voice.

“Oh no…he mustn't see me like this” She mutters worried.

“What's that?” Jason peered at a corner where a bright light is emerging from. He started moving closer.

“Peni…weirdo? Weirdo is that you?”

“What should I do? Please dry….dry…”

“Weirdo???”Jason called in surprised on seeing her.

“Young…man”

He moves closer putting the umbrella over her.

“Weirdo why are you_” He couldn't complete his statement cause peninah suddenly stood up and jumped on him.

He gasped.

“Hey_”

“I knew it…I knew you would come back for me…I knew you wouldn't leave me here Young man…” She cried on his shoulder.

“Hey…get down first I…”

“Young man…I was really scared…I thought you left me” She sniffs on his shoulder. Jason sighs.

“You should have just went home…why wait here like a fool. What if I had not come back?”

“Young man…I knew you wouldn't abandon me here…you came back…eventually” she replied and he snickers.

“Get down now…let's go home”

“Home? I…I can't”

“”You can't?”

“It's…still raining”

“I brought umby and the car is close”

“No…Young man…I can't get into the rain…I cannot” She shakes her head.

“Why? Wait…are you…ombrophobe”

“Hm?”

“Scared of rain? Like is that it?” He asked and she nodded immediately.

“Yeah…it's that thing…I'm too scared to go into the rain”

“Agh…this is problem”

“Can we just stay here till it stops?”

“Hey! It's super cold here”

“Young man…”

“Can you just get down first?”

“No…I'm gonna stay like this…you can't stop me now” she said determined wrapping her legs around his torso tightly. Jason sighs in exasperation.

JASON'S HOUSE.

“You're really strange…how could you wait five hours?”

“I have nowhere to go…so I had no choice but to wait”

“What if I hadn't come?”

“You still did…that's what matters” She mumbles holding her stomach.

“But is your stomach hurting? You've been gripping it since earlier”

“Oh…it's_”Her stomach rumbles and she bit her lower lip.

“Umm…guess you're still hungry in this situation…figures…You're human too after all”

“Go change…I'll have something prepared for you” He added and she grinned running upstairs to his room.

KITCHEN

Jason whistle as he cook. Peninah came to the kitchen after changing to one of his shirts. It stopped right above her mid thigh.

“Young man!” She grinned hugging him from behind. Jason's eyes went big and he drop the spoon in his hand. In a swift he spun around getting her away from him.

“Wha…what are…you…doing?” He stutters.

“Young man…are you okay?” She asked innocently moving closer.

“Stay back! Don't come near me!” He ordered and she froze on her spot. He took his time examinimg her from head to toe.

“That's my shirt”

“Uh…there was nothing else to wear Young man…so I borrowed this” She giggles twirling.

“I like it it's so free…”

“You're crazy”

“You…don't you dare hug like that ever again?”

“Why? Is it not good?”

“Of course it's not…are you really a pervert or what?”

“But Young man…when are we gonna kiss?”

“You…seems you aren't gonna stop but I have a girlfriend…whom I love so much”

“Girlfriend? Do you kiss her?” She quizzed and jason scoffs.

“What do you expect?” He stuck his tongue out at her and continue cooking.

“Do I have to be his girlfriend also if I want him to ?” She thought within.

“Wait in the dining…I'll serve the food now” He said snapping her out of her thoughts.

DINNING.

“Ahh….it looks delicious” She grins clapping hee hands together.

“Shrimps….I love shrimps!”

“Dig in…you must be hungry” He said and she dipped her hand into the rice he served.

“Ouch ouch!!” She removed her hand instantly fanning it.

“Hey! How can you dipped your hand inside? It must be hot”

“Young man…” She pouted.

“No matter how hungry you are you shouldn't become a fool…use the spoon”

“Spoon?” She looks at the spoon and knife placed beside her plate and picked the knife up.

“This?” She held it with her full fist shoving it forward to him.

“Hey….move that away”

“Why? How do I use this? Uh? Uh?” She shoved it more closer and he stood up immediately.

“HEY!! DO YOU WANNA KILL ME!” He yelled.

“Young man…”

“Did I brought a…murderer into my house….seriously”

“Hold it like this…then scoop the rice with it….and in your mouth it goes…” He explained for the third time and she did as explained.

“Wow…I did it! I did it Young man…the food didn't fall off this time!” She grins while Jason ruffles her hair.

“Yeah…I'm proud of you”

“Thank you Young man…” She smiles and continue eating as he taught her.

“But Young man…when are we gonna kiss?”

“Just kiss your food for now….continue”

LATER.

“Young man….Young man…when are we kissing? Uh? Uh? Let's do it now…why do you keep on stalling? Young man….Young man…” Peninah keeps following Jason around everywhere he goes.

“Seriously! Mention anything about kissing again and I'm gonna throw you out!”

“Young man…”

“Gosh I'm sleepy…” He said leaving.

“Don't you dare follow me…perve!” He said before running to his room.

PENINAH'S ROOM.

“Why won't he kiss me? Just why is it so hard getting a kiss from him? Young man is really stubborn…why do I have to meet a human like him….what do I do now? We really have to kiss for me to become human…I have to get him to kiss me at all cost” Peninah keeps thinking with her eyes wide open staring at the ceiling.

After a while she started smiling cunningly to herself.

“Seems like…I'm eventually getting my kiss tonight…” She laughs.

2:AM

Peninah opens the door silently, she peeps inside and saw him sound asleep.

“I just need to kiss him that's all…” She tiptoe inside the room smiling to herself.

Jason felt a presence beside him and open his eyes slowly just to be met with peninah's face so close to him.

“AHHHGH!!!” He shouted out of fright sitting up immediately.

“Shhh! It's me Young man” Peni whispers.

“Freak…freak! What are you doing here?!”

“Since you won't kiss me…I'm just gonna get it myself” She smiles

“She's….she's nuts” He shakes his head.

“It'll only take a moment” She made to kiss him but Jason tries to jump off the bed immediately however peninah was able to catch his leg dragging him with it.

“HEY! Let go you PSYCHO!!!”

“It'll only take a moment Young man!!!”

“You're insanely crazy aren't you?!!”

“I really have to kiss you!”

“All my life I've never met a girl throwing herself desperately at a guy like this!! You're a FREAK!”

“If I don't kiss you I'll die!!”

“I shouldn't have brought you back! Let me gooo!!!” He kicked her and she let go of his leg making him fall on the floor.

Peninah stood from the bed.

“Whether you like it or not we're kissing tonight” She said determined and charged at him. He got up quickly running around the room while she chases.

“You…get out of my room!”

“After kissing you”

“You're mad!!”

“I'm mad for Kiss!!!”

“Oh my God!! She's completely out of it!”

“Come here Young man”

“As if!!”

“”YOUNG MAN!!!” She shouted making him flinched. He frozen where he stood.

“Hey…weirdo…” He called slowly and she moves to him. He stared down at her.

“Let's kiss” She said softly. He just stares.

“Please…” She added. Jason sighs.

“You want a kiss?” He asked and she nodded.

“Aright…I'll give it to you….is it not just a kiss?”

“Really Young man!” Her face lit up.

“Close your eyes”

“My eyes? Why?”

“It's more sweeter…close it” He said and she gladly did it Puckering her lips.

Jason stared at her in disbelief.

“Kiss my foot” He thought within before pinching her lips.

“Ummm!! Uhmm!!!” She hummed winced holding his hand. Jason swept her off the ground and carry her outside dropping her. She landed her butt on the tiled floor.

“OUCH!!!”

“You want a kiss…go kiss your ass Young lady” He smirks before slamming the door before her. Peninah stomp her feet on the floor.

“He's so hard seriously…”

PENINAH'S ROOM.

Peninah keep thinking going back and forth in her room.

“Something must be wrong? Why is he being so adamant? Why? Why? Does he hate kissing? Wait! He said he could kiss his girlfriend? Yeah…I just need to become his girlfriend…then I'd be able to kiss him freely…”

“Agh!” She slumped on the bed.

“No wonder the water goddess gave me so much time…it ain't easy to kiss a human after all.”

NEXT MORNING.

Due to the other night incident, it took a while for Jason to sleep fearing she might come back again. He slept late which made him woke up late also.

“Aww!!” He yawns getting down from the bed.

“Weird girl….I should be careful” He took off his top and went to the bathroom. He washed his face and took his toothbrush pasting the toothpaste on it and started brushing. Image of how she attacked him the other night flashed in his head.

“How can a girl easily offer herself? She should be thankful it's me…imagine if it's some other guy…she would have certainly got into trouble.”

“Come to think of it…I think it'd be best I keep her with me…who knows what will happen if she goes out there…the world is dangerous now” He spat out the foam and wash his mouth.

“Agh!” He sighs.

“Not only am I handsome…I'm also generous and kind…i must say there's no guy like me…I'm rare…she should be happy” He said checking himself in the mirror.

“Aww…so charming” He smiles going into the shower.

“No wonder she's crazy over me…”

Jason hums as the shower pours down on him.

He plays with his hair washing it and giggles.

Twirling around as the water washes down the foam down his face.

“Umm…I love this…hummmmm” he continues humming however the door suddenly opens and a head popped in.

“Young man…if I become your girlfriend will you kiss me?” She asked good humouredly while Jason's eyes almost flew out of its sockets. He looks at himself naked and look back at her.

“”AHHHHHHH!!!” He released a loud scream while peninah just look at him with an innocent look.
