The FATE Institute Fellows Program 2022

The FATE Institute is pleased to announce the launch of “The FATE Institute Fellows Program“. This is a two-year fellowship program designed to bring policy experts, economists, and academia together to support policy design and implementation processes that will address key gaps limiting the potential of Nigeria’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.

FATE Foundation was formally incorporated in March 2000 as a Company Limited by Guarantee under the Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission (RC 393730).

FATE was founded by Fola Adeola (Founder & Pioneer Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, GTBank) with the support of other leading private sector leaders committed to fostering sustainable entrepreneurship. Mr. Fola Adeola remains very active in leading the Board of Directors to deliver on the organization’s founding mission and mandate.

They harness the strong entrepreneurial culture of Nigerians by providing the business incubation, growth and accelerator support required to fully explore their innovative potential.

Their sustainability model is driven by funding and technical support from local and international partners and enabled by a strong volunteerism strategy.

The institute also believes that when there is access to useful knowledge, stakeholders can make impact-driven decisions allowing the entrepreneurial potential to flourish.

The Research and Policy arm of the Foundation known as The FATE Institute was created from the thorough lack of data around entrepreneurship in Nigeria. Little to nothing existed to help people in this space and more so, to drive strategic decision-making by policymakers and other stakeholders.

Given their legacy and impact in the Nigerian entrepreneurship ecosystem, they get asked a lot of questions covering all areas of entrepreneurship. The institute realized that they didn’t have answers to some frequently asked questions. And, they also didn’t have direct access to the right people who can give clarity. This was a consistent problem, which inspired and commenced their journey into research and policy.

The FATE Institute Fellows Program Objectives.

  • Working directly on policy issues that impact entrepreneurship ecosystem in Nigeria
  • Supporting the development of data, policy briefs and engagement in advocacy.
  • Active engagement with ecosystem stakeholders on the implementation of recommendations
